BROGUE CELTIC DUO EDINBURGH SCOTLAND

Brogue are a Celtic duo based near Edinburgh in Scotland. They have 2 albums released in the UK with a third recently released  Celtic traditional melodies interpreted with a rhythmic, rock feel and a scattering of world ideas. At the moment they play 1 hour of Celtic music and 1 hour of nostalgic pop covers and both sing live and play guitar, mandolin and percussion. Brogue have our own transport and a small PA system.

Brigitte Rodrigues: Lead vocals, backing vocals, percussion, piano, piano accordion, concertina and drum programming. Throughout her teens Brigitte participated in a number of local theatre shows over a period of ten years; singing, dancing, acting, playing piano and doing the musical direction in one of them. She has been the lead singer in a few live bands and, in one instance, the musical co-coordinator and lead singer of a seven-piece band. She has done session singing on many advertising jingles and was a music teacher in South Africa for seven years.

David Scobie: Lead vocals, backing vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano, bodhran, percussion, harmonica, penny whistle, mandolin, tenor banjo, celtic bouzouki and drum programming. From 1983 to 2004 David endured a fruitful career in advertising jingles, producing and engineering. Over the years David repeatedly earned Advertising Awards for his efforts. In 1998 he staged two musicals and two comedy theatre productions to full houses around South Africa.
