PAPERLACE hit band, direct from the 70′s. Two original members including the singer/drummer whose lead vocal is on all the hit records.
In 1973 the TV talent show “Opportunity Knocks” became the first real break for this extraordinary vocal harmony band and the PAPERLACE line-up at this time still included lead vocalist Phil Wright and bassist Cliff Fish.
Whilst winning the public’s postal vote five times and so appearing on the TV show for total of 6 weeks in succession, they were spotted by hit song writers Mitch Murray and Peter Callender and their recording career took flight.
In 1974 “Billy Don’t Be A Hero”, “The Night Chicago Died”, “The Blackeyed Boys”, “Hitchin’ a Ride 74”, “So What if I Am” and two albums made up the 30,000,000 plus UK record sales achieved by this fantastic hit pop and rock band.
The line-up today is as follows:
Philip Wright – Singer / Drummer (original), Cliff Fish – Bass Player / Vocals (original), Phil Hendriks – Guitar / Vocals, Paul Robinson – Keys, Guitar / Vocals. Two original members in this four piece band playing rock and pop ‘live’ from the seventies.
