Sample recipe: Hans Andersen’s Favourite:
1 slice liverpate, few slices butter-fried mushrooms, 1 gherkin, 1 rasher crisply fried bacon, 1 tomato slice. lettuce, buttered rye bread.
Method
For a neatly cut slice, chill the pate before opening. Place liverpate on the buttered bread. Heap cooked, sliced mushrooms in the centre. Slice end of gherkin and fan out. Place it to one side of mushrooms. Arrange bacon strip across. Garnish with twisted slice of tomato. Tuck lettuce to one side of tomato.
