It all started when Laura, who also performs as Cher, was told how much she looked like the troubled singer.

"When I started my tribute show, Amy Winehouse had only had two hits. I was hoping there would be more to do a good show," says Laura.

"Then her album went to number one and it all came good."

All the publicity about the troubled songstress and her jailed hubby hasn't hurt either. She is mistaken for the REAL Amy Winehouse wherever she goes and soon has the paparazzi hot on her heels.

"My Winehouse is just terrific. Her look-alike quality and slightly spaced out, expressionless face said it all," enthused The Stage newspaper.

Laura is also from the same part of London, although she admits to being a size 12 compared to the petite singer.
