HRH The Prince of Wales has granted a rare patronage to 'the incomparable and enormously experienced' Polar Explorer and Environmentalist, Pen Hadow. Hadow's work "is crucial to ensure we have the information to know the scale of the damage we are doing to our planet."
"Minister, Ladies and Gentlemen. I am anxious to be following Pen Hadow who speaks so brilliantly and who lays down the challenges and dangers we face so clearly. I am so grateful to him for taking the trouble to talk to us from the Arctic."
Pen Hadow
recently returned from a three-month, pioneering scientific expedition to help determine
the lifespan of the Arctic Ocean's sea ice cover.
Dr Neil T. M Hamilton – Director WWF International Arctic Programme.
Pen Hadow
rose to international fame when he became the first to complete one of the last polar challenges – trekking solo without re-supply from Canada to the North Pole. This feat was thought by some to be harder than climbing Everest solo without oxygen, and some polar experts had begun to think the challenge impossible.Pen is also the first Briton to trek without re-supply
to both North and South Geographic Poles. He has been a professional polar guide
for 18 years.
Pen (48) is increasingly featured in the media as a
national spokesman on Environmental and Climate Change issues, based on his knowledge
of, and concern for, changes in the North Pole environment. He has featured in public
speaking line-ups for environmental events alongside HRH The Prince of Wales, Al
Gore, Lord Coe and Sir Jonathon Porritt.
Pen
is an established Speaker on the International Circuit with clients that have included
M&S, BP, BA, IBM, Vodafone, NatWest and Bank of America

"Pen Hadow's experience was genuinely inspirational and motivating. Having launched Marks and Spencer's Plan A initiative on the need to tackle the enormous challenge of climate change, it was fantastic to hear from someone who has experienced global warming issues with their own eyes." "You have a gift - and should use it. Few can communicate with a level of engagement and intensity like that." Dame Anita Roddick Founder of The Body Shop
