In 1998
DRIVE came
off the road after a 10 year period. In 2006
after an 8 year break, mainly writing and chilling out in his French farmhouse retreat,
Pete decided to reform his popular circuit band
DRIVE. The decision
was taken to reform DRIVE after a great response this
year to Pete's book 'Outside Looking In' and his solo cd 'Cutting The Mustard'.Both
have received excellent reviews from around the world DRIVE
are a mature exciting band of 4 seasoned musicians, well travelled with a fine pedigree,
who are quite simply making music, entertaining and having a great time doing it.
DRIVE are based in Surrey
DRIVE plays Rocking Boogie-Blues covers by artists such as Clapton, Freddie King, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Stones, JJ Cale, Frankie Miller, Johnny Winter, Bob Segar, Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top etc and also playing some original tracks off Pete's solo CD 'Cutting The Mustard'.
Guitar and Vocals - Pete Mitchell who has worked with Special Brew, Carl Wayne (The Move), Hustler and DRIVE.
Keyboards - Johnny B (keyboard wizard - honky tonk to Hammond) who has worked with Hot Chocolate, Art Wood, Mick Avery (Kinks), Dave Berry, Steve Hackett and the Blockheads.
Bass and Vocals - Dave Robb (creative boogie, rock solid 5 string bassist) who has worked with Dr JJ and the Blues Sharks.
Drums
- Phil Thomas (cool, tight, laid back drummer with dynamic drive) who has worked
with Chris Capaldi's Blues Trio, Screaming Lord Such and recently
toured with Cactus Jack in
