Vera Lynn tribute Gerri has been performing all over the country this year as Vera Lynn. She appeared in 'Stars In Their Eyes' as Vera Lynn in 1992 when the show first began. She also appears at private, theatre and corporate functions as a Dorothy Squires tribute. On Oct 15th 2005 she performed for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance in Alington Hall Shrewsbury. She sang at the biggest celebration of WW11 event of the year at Blenheim Palace on August 14th 2004.

"Her uncanny resemblance to Dame Vera Lynn has given many people the pleasure of believing that they have met the real Vera. On one occasion in Salisbury Gerri was approached by a gentleman and asked if she would speak to his mother. “She was in Burma with my father and has some memories to share with you”. The lovely old lady said that she had seen Gerri on the telly the night before at The Imperial War Museum and decided to tell her about her about leaving her memoirs to the museum. When she spoke to Gerri she said that they had experiences to share. Gerri couldn’t embarrass this wonderful lady by saying she was not the real Vera so she listened sympathetically.

Another wonderful time at Blenheim Gerri had performed on stage as Vera Lynn and then wandered into a veteran marquee to speak to some of the old soldiers. An ex RAF pilot asked her if she remembered being flown to Italy for a concert along with Francis Day. He had been the pilot. Quick as a flash Gerri replied "that must have been 1942" and the pilot was thrilled that 'Dame Vera' had remembered."
