1997 saw the return of Kevin Michaels the comedy impressionist, to our screens. After winning his heat, he became the smash comedy hit of London Weekend Television’s live final of “Big Big Talent Show.”
The Sun’s newspaper critic, Garry Bushell said “Kev does more take offs than a 747!”
Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said “Kev could be the next Bobby Davro.”
Kevin Michaels is that delightful combination of personality and talent so rarely found. It’s his cheeky school boy sense of humour and warmth which first charms an audience before amazing them with his accurate impressions. From Poole in Dorset, Kevin is ready suited for cruise ships and corporate entertainment of any kind. Des O’Connor described him as: “A young man with a bright future.”

A former chat show host, he was the presenter of the long-running Channel 4 gameshow Countdown for two years. He has also recorded 36 albums and has had four top-ten singles, including a number-one hit with “I Pretend”, with global sales of more than sixteen million records.
Morecambe And Wise: He has toured with Buddy Holly (during Holly’s 1958 stay in Britain) and Jason Donovan. O’Connor appeared as a guest on The Morecambe and Wise Show a number of times and was the butt of many a joke by Morecambe, being referred to as “Des – short for ‘desperate” and “Death O’Connor”. One line, sung to the tune of “Crazy Words – Crazy Tune” was, “Roses are red, violets are blue, Des can’t sing, we know that’s true!”. (Wikipedia)
